Forensic Technology MS

Overview

Participants take a test of basic forensic science theory to qualify as semifinalists. Semifinalists demonstrate expertise of forensic science concepts through the application of techniques within a limited time frame. Students will need to be familiar with and able to demonstrate all three (3) skills. During the semifinalist portion, one (1) skill will be selected for the students to demonstrate to the judges. 

2021-2022 Theme

 

Be familiar with and be able to demonstrate the following forensic science concepts:

  • Collect and analyze fibers and textiles

  • Forensic entomology

  • Forensic psychology

Oklahoma Eligibility

Entries are limited to three (3) teams of two (2) per chapter.

State Competition Information

 

Team members will take an online exam over basic forensic science theory from March 1 - 25, 2022  to determine the semifinalists for the on-site demonstration. Students will take the test individually and scores will be averaged for a team score.  Testing information has been sent directly to your school testing liaison if you set one up in previous years. If you have not sent that information or need to change who your liaison is, please send an email to tami.redus@careertech.ok.gov, with the subject line: TSA Testing Liaison.

The forensic science concept to be presented will be released the day prior to the state conference.
